Outdoor Wooden Signage Care & Installation

Installing and maintaining your outdoor wooden signage correctly ensures it looks its best and lasts for years to come. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the best ways to install your sign—whether wall-mounted or post-mounted—and how to keep it looking great over time.

Our products can be seperated into two types: Wall Mounted or Free Standing with Posts

Product Installation

How to Install our Wall-Mounted Products

There are several pre-drilled holes in your sign, which can be capped with oak dowels to neatly conceal the screws. All screws and dowels are included with your order.

To install, we recommend first driving the screws partway through the sign until the tips just begin to protrude. Then, carefully hold the sign in place against the wall where you’d like it to sit. When you're happy with the positioning, press the sign gently against the surface—the screw tips will leave small indentations, marking exactly where you need to drill.

For masonry or stone walls, drill at these marked points and insert wall plugs before securing the sign. For timber surfaces, you can screw directly into the wood at the marked points.

How to Install our Free-Standing Products with Posts

To begin, choose your desired location and gently position the sign upright, hovering the legs over the ground. Lightly press the posts down just enough to leave visible marks in the soil. These will indicate where your holes need to go.

Using a pole, metal bar, or even the end of a broom handle, make holes where the imprints were left. We recommend digging the holes slightly deeper than needed to allow for easy adjustment.

Next, carefully insert the posts into the holes, alternating between each leg to keep the sign as level as possible. Avoid forcing the posts in too far all at once—adjust gradually until you're happy with the positioning and level.

For a more secure, longer-lasting and easier installation, we highly recommend using ground spikes. Not only do they add extra height and stability, but they also help extend the life of your sign by keeping the wood off the ground.
