Our Story

Growing up on a National Trust Pig Farm on the rugged and beautiful coastline of south Devon, Rheece has grown up with a deep appreciation for the beautiful Devon countryside. After finishing his degree in Business Management in Worcester, he returned to Devon to start work as an accountant. After the longest week, Rheece quickly realised that office life was not for him, and with Lennie’s support and encouragement he started embracing the idea of pursuing his true passion: Carpentry.

From a young age, Grandad Nick Pitts taught Rheece the basics of wood work. They made chestnut bowls, yew table mats and even a big oak snail with a moving shell. His workshop has lathes, thicknessers, table saws, chop saws, belt sanders and band saws. All the good stuff. A lot of Rheece’s appreciation for trees and woodlands came from his family who had always farmed with wildlife preservation at the heart of their decisions.

Lennie grew up down the road in Salcombe, growing up loving the coastline and ironically exploring the National Trust farm and beach Soar Mill Cove that Rheece lived on. Sharing a love and appreciation for their slice of the Devon Coastline and having obtained a degree in Business Entrepreneurship from Falmouth University, specialising in marketing and events, it only made sense to combine their skills and grow the business.

2023 brought many exciting adventures, including the purchasing a half acre of land complete with a little lodge overlooking the green fields of the shire.

Starting out as coat racks resembling the traditional National Trust style coastal foot signs, the business has grown to now offer over 50 products on many platforms. From custom projects both domestic and commercial, house signage or customised gifts, our product list keeps growing with us.

Our wood is sustainably sourced from Dartmoor, and gives us an opportunity to explore more of the beautiful national park on our doorstep.

In 2025, we got married on a farm in a yellow weather warning with our favourite people and have been growing the business ever since.

We are so lucky to work with two of our best friends Lee and Danny, who work part time. Whether its coming up with new ways to optimise the workshop or new product ideas, it's always a good day when Lee and Danny are in the workshop!
