Sourcing Dartmoor Oak
Every piece starts as a carefully selected plank of oak from a local Dartmoor sawmill. We use a mix of green and seasoned oak, chosen for its unique knots and grain that add character. Inspired by our walks and wild swims across Dartmoor, we keep sourcing local to reduce our carbon footprint.

Sorting and Storing
Back in our South Devon workshop, each plank is inspected, sorted, and stored. This allows the wood to acclimatize and ensures only the best pieces move forward into our crafting process.

Custom Design & Engraving
Your personalization comes to life here. We provide multiple design proofs for you to review and approve before any engraving begins, ensuring your piece is exactly how you imagined. Once confirmed, we carefully engrave the design into the wood, creating a high-quality, lasting finish.

Sanding and Detailing
We meticulously sand and dremel each piece. Every edge is softened, every engraved groove refined, and the wood is transformed into a smooth, tactile canvas. This is when the oak’s natural character truly emerges.

Painting and Finishing Touches
We carefully paint the engraved details so the color fully fills each groove. The surface is then planed to reveal the engraving, followed by a final sanding for a smooth, flawless finish that highlights both the natural grain and the design.

Protective Treatment
We apply a Danish oil that soaks deep into the oak, enhancing its natural tones while creating a protective barrier against moisture and everyday wear. Over time, this finish may be refreshed to maintain its warmth, sheen, and long-lasting durability, ensuring your piece can be enjoyed for years to come.

Thoughtful Packaging
We prioritise the protection of each product and the sustainability of our packaging, especially as every piece is a different shape and size. Each item is carefully secured using recycled materials and sent via 48-hour tracked delivery, ensuring it arrives safely and ready to enjoy.
